The Saadi (Berber dynasty 1548 - 1660)

Dar Chadia - Saadieden
At the beginning of XVIe Century, The Saadi Berbers come from the valley of Draa, exasperated by the Christian offensives, revolt against the Marinid, and drive them out of the city. Melting their own dynasty, they start a holy war against the Portuguese at the Battle of Ksar El Kebir. So Agadir is taken again in 1541… and they defend the country against the Ottomans. Before they conquer Marrakech, they had Taroudant as their capital city.
